Smoking causing relationship rift, any help?

my boyfriend is a smoker and I’ve asked him if he would consider giving up and its caused a bit of a rift between us. I dont want it to split us up as he is a lovely at heart.

Can anyone give a $5 reading and help?

Accept him as he is smoking and all. If you love him it shouldn’t make a difference. He can smoke outside if you don’t like it in doors. Compromise!

Something as simple as a ciggarate should NOT casue a problem in a serious relationship or any relationship for that matter. Its a habbit that was formed and he sems that he can not go withut it so i say leave him be and learn to accpet it. It may be a turn off considering the smell however its not efecting his life, If it was a different drug or a serious life changing addiction it would indeed be a different a story. Just let him be. There’s a very old song from the 60s called, “Don’t Make Me Over,” which continues with, “now that I can’t live without you,” etc. In short, obviously you knew he was a smoker from the onset and had it annoyed you then you would have said no to the first date. He is a really nice guy, good hearted too, shy at times but for heaven sake, leave him be. This aversion to smokers began during the Clinton period and has spread world wide like the plague. Smokers are treated like 3rd world citizens. Cigs back East are 100 bucks a carton….where do all those taxes go? Here in Az….58 bucks a carton. A wake up call to smokers with a question: what is more unhealthy? a)being a hundred pounds overweight. b)smoking. Don’t kid yourself every dummy that bit on the oooh oooh smoking is bad for you stopped and gained 50+ pounds. I AM A SMOKER!!! The government will never tell me I can’t smoke. Now here’s a good one….had a chest xray and all the other tests, etc. Doc said…omg your lungs are pink! I said, of course they are, you really don’t believe the propaganda do you? Insofar as smoking and cancer….sorry…my Aunt Kate had seven types of cancer. It was so bad in her brain, that her brain was eaten away. She died in 1967 at 66 years old….NEVER SMOKED…nor did her husband or her kids. Me, my BP runs 100 over 50 or 60 sometimes 90 over 50 or 60. I meditate and do Yoga…good for the bp, nice normal pulse rate too. Don’t get me wrong on this one, I’m not blowing my own horn but want to make a point. When people hear my age, the look on their face is priceless! They can’t believe I’m 74….I weigh 101 pounds and am 5’ 2” tall or short whichever you prefer. My energy is the same as it always was (Mars on my Ascendant at 10 in Aquarius) Sorry to be sooooo long winded but it drives me nuts when people talk about smoking, climbing down from my soapbox now :) But as Nichole Heart said: “Just let him be.” Very good Nichole, I agree with you! :)
