I haven’t seen him in almost two months and he pops up last night apologizing and saying that he knows he really messed up bad. Pretty much gave the “take care” speech. I don’t know if this is him saying goodbye for real or his way of trying to get a reaction out of me, as I haven’t reached out to him since April.

Unfortunately it’s not possible to take a look as the first names have not been provided. However, I can offer my opinion based on my life experience rather than explain what is on the way. In my opinion, he may have just wanted to apologize. Sometimes it takes a while to realize the effects that our actions have on other people. In your case, it seems to have happened quite quick. In any event, sometimes people just want to apologize as they do truly feel bad about what occurred.

I sense this as a moment where he is reaching out to let go, he still feels a sense of attraction and desire in the energy, but he feels like the potential has faded due to the way you treated him, so it would take investment and energy from you to change the course. This is his goodbye if you dont try and stop him
