Ever since my parents got divourced,I feel like I have been experiencing extreme depression.Sometimes this depression of mine can happen for no reason. My dad lost his job,got really depressed, abused alcohol and had erractic mood swings. My mom got soo fed up with his behavior, she divourced him 4-5 years ago.Since then I can be very depressed when I`m at home.Did my dad leave negative energy in our house and if so is that what is causing my depression? My depression is not so bad at work.Sometimes I won`t be doing much at home and I will get very depressed. Please help me on this.I`m afriad to go on a antidepressant because I`m afriad of the possible side effects and how it might affect me. I appreciate your feedback very much.

i feel that you are carrying much emotional baggage from your childhood so this could possibly be the cause but again it is not our job to diagnose you.

try talking to someone who specializes in psychology and see what they can do for you. i definetly feel that this is having a spiritual affect on you but i still reccomend you get psychological help.

First thing I think you may have been deeply affected by your parents divorce more than you realise the actions of our parents can affect us in ways that we may not realise so do go and talk to someone as Miko has suggested and they can help you with how you are feeling. That divorce was probably a good thing because the actions of your father were very unhealthy and your mum realised this and it was not fair on you and your mum did what she thought was best for your well being as she obviously did not want you exposed to that stuff from your father so see the divorce as a good thing. Also as Miko has pointed out go back to your childhood and see if you went through anything traumatic that could be playing a part in your frame of mind. The thing about depression is drugs are not always the answer yes you may get down but what you need to do is learn new things to control your thoughts and emotions that is a task in itself so talking to someone that specialises in this stuff may give you the much needed tools to cope. Just talking takes the burden off you and remember you are the writer of your own destiny not everything is written in stone you have free will to make the decisions that you do in life. My suggestion about your home perhaps a spiritual cleanse such as burning sage and letting the smoke from the sage cleanse the home as this is supposed to get rid of negative energy. Hope this helps.
