How do we know what these scam psychics are doing w our full names, our partners full names DOBs and our street address and potentially phone number they get Thru PayPal transactions? I’ve had scammers try to get me to pay for “work” costing $1,000 or so. One I found runs a porn site when he was trying to say he was some “Christian” who worked constantly in a church. Lied to me about where he was from. And I found his sex site. How do I protect my info? How do I know what these people do w mine and our full names?? It’s creepy and this is why I no longer use this site.

First, we do not see all your information. Just your name and email address. Second, if someone contacts you this way from Bitwine, report them immediately. Forward the email to support @ bitwine . com

We would get banned from the site for contacting you that way. We are only allowed to contact you through the site.

However, Bitwine cant protect you if you send money to someone off the site.

Bitwine needs to create accounts for clients so that when money is transferred from paypal, it goes to bitwine account. Then clients can use money in their account to pay for readings. It also looks like advisors see our payment history.

Hello I for one agree with the other psychics, WE ABSOLUTELY DO NOT SEE ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION WHEN YOU PAY ON THE SITE FOR A READING & WE ABSOLUTELY CANNOT EVER SEE ANYONE PAYMENT HISTORY OTHER THAN OUR OWN HISTORY FOR OUR ON ACCOUNTS. BITWINE HAS BEEN MORE THAN WONDERFUL BY KEEPING OUR PRIVACY PRIVATE. AS FOR THIS EMAIL STUFF,. I seeing you gave your personal information to a fake and they used this against you, it’s OK to admit a mistake. Understand if a psychic needs your whole full name & DOB alone that’s a red flag because they are fishing for information to regenerate to you about your sign as though they know you but they dnt, and it is a Double red flag if they are asking for any personal information as far as email address and all that stuff.

When people come to me, all I need is their real first name and questions, i don’t need your last name, nor do i need anyone else’s names or DOB, that’s too much info. you came to be shown truth from me not the other way around. be weary of psychics who need so much info about you, they might just be con-artist. I am very sorry that happen to you but next time be careful. Much love & blessings to you TTYL

We don’t see your actual payment history. When we get the notification that you are requesting a session, we see your user name and a notification that tells us if your payment history is excellent, good or low.

Yes but my main problem is I am giving you my full Name and date of birth as well as my partners full name and date of birth to really negative people I come to find out and that’s just very very disturbing to me. Even if you don’t see our addresses and stuff in PayPal transactions is what I’m talking about, you’re still getting our full names when we talk. What these scammers do with it is VERY scary.

Tay, thats what I am talking about as well. When we go into paypal, all we see is your name and email address. And you have to look at this as any other kind of business. When you purchase something at a store, they get your name. No store is going to let you just pay without your cc information which includes your full name.

You also remember that we need to protect ourselves as well from clients that try to scam us. I have had people use others paypal account to get sessions. I have had client try to use others cc information to get sessions. It goes both ways.

As for your email address, thats why i say if anyone contacts you off of this site, report them. That is one of the best ways to stop the scammers.

Personally, I’m more afraid of the government than any psychics keeping my info.

But yes, like the other psychics here said: we don’t get as much information as it might seem like!

Pay attention for scammers by doing some research into the psychic you’re looking to get a reading from, first. Read their reviews, follow their blog, do whatever you can to get to know who it is you’ll be telling your most intimate life stories to.

Truly, a name and email address are nothing compared to actually entrusting someone with your life history, dreams, love…

It’s a shame but other professions are no different. There are scammers everywhere, so keep afoot and you’ll be just fine.

If I ask for your first name, partner’s name, and DOB it’s usually for no other purpose than to get a more accurate connection to you. For example: If your name is “John”, there are MANY John’s out there in the world and I need to have something more personal to YOU so that I pick up on you and not some random guy. :)

It’s also important for us Advisors to have at least a first name so that we have proof of authorization to the payment you’re making. It protects us against fraudulent behavior, sort of like Jamey said about purchasing something at a store and them needing your information.

If an Advisor asks you for an email address, phone number, credit card number, or anything resembling that type of information—Please report them.

Otherwise, what everyone else said was correct, we can’t see anything other than name and email in Paypal. :)
